This Privacy Policy explains how Skating with Sam ("we," "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use skatewithsam.com and our booking and lesson services.

Information we collect

• Contact details you provide — name, email address, and mobile phone number.
• Booking details — the skater's name, lessons requested, rink, dates and times, and notes you add.
• Payment information — processed securely by our payment provider (Stripe) for card payments; we do not store your full card number. We record which lessons are paid and by what method for accounting.
• Usage data — basic technical data (such as IP address) used to keep the site secure and rate-limit abuse.

How we use your information

• To schedule, confirm, and manage your lessons and account.
• To communicate with you by email and text message about your bookings (see Text messaging below).
• To process payments and keep accurate financial records.
• To secure the site and prevent abuse.

Text messaging (SMS)

With your consent, we send: account login one-time passcodes, lesson reminders, and payment reminders. You opt in by entering your own mobile number on the account login page or when booking a lesson. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. See our SMS Terms for details. We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile number or SMS consent with anyone, and mobile information is never shared with third parties for marketing.

How we share information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us operate, and only as needed to run the service:

• Stripe — payment processing.
• Twilio — sending text messages.
• Brevo — sending email.

We may also disclose information if required by law. Your mobile number and messaging consent are never shared for third-party marketing or lead generation.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide lessons, keep financial records, and comply with legal obligations. You can ask us to delete your information (subject to records we must keep for tax/accounting).

Your choices

You can opt out of texts anytime by replying STOP. To access, correct, or delete your information, contact us using the details below.

Security

We use reasonable technical measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to keep your data safe.

Children

Lessons are often booked by a parent or guardian on a young skater's behalf. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13 without a parent or guardian; a parent/guardian provides the booking details.

Changes

We may update this policy; the "last updated" date above reflects the latest version.
